Darren mentioned in Daily Telegraph Magazine
Posted By bramble on Thursday, October 30 2003 at 8:20 PM
I missed this one, which was apparently posted in Wednesday's SLM magagine in the Daily Telegraph. Thanks to Adam 'sherman' for posting this on the forum.
"SOLO AFFIRMATION - Darren Hayes is wrapping up recording his second solo album in London. The former Savage Garden frontman has been working with some of the biggest names the international music industry has to boast. It seems some of them didn't think Mr Hayes was cool enough to record with until they heard his debut solo album, Affirmation, which soon changed their minds. Those who signed on the give him a hand for this album include Mark Stent(U2, All Saints) and Marius de Vries(Bjork, David Bowie)"
...Obviously they got the title of his first solo record wrong.
ARIA Stills and Possible Downtime
Posted By lssilver on Thursday, October 30 2003 at 8:11 AM
There could be some possible downtime in the next 2 days because DHC is running very close to it's data transfer limits. As a result I have had to limit the number of ARIA stills that are available to be viewed. If the still you are trying to view does not work then please return in early November when they will be back online again :)
Sorry for any Inconvenience.

Received this from Darren Hayes Sydney Street Team who found it on the Channel V messageboard. Thanks to The Street Team for this. Obviously this is part of a much larger article, which I do not have access to, but how fantastic for Darren to get this wonderful mention.

11 Thoughts about the ARIA's
Wasn't Darren Hayes spot on?
Called in from the US to pitch-hit on a piano-only version of Delta's Lost Without You, he found more in the song than anyone, including it's author, would have a right to expect. He gave a powerful, naked performance of a track that relies on a lot of clothes.

Darren's Message about ARIA Awards
Posted By lssilver on Wednesday, October 22 2003 at 6:45 PM
"I just wanted to express my admiration and appreciation to Delta Goodrem, Sony Music, Mark Pope and ARIA for the incredible honor of singing for Delta at this years ARIA awards in Sydney Australia. It was everyone's wish to ensure the evening remained a moment for Delta - thus the complete secrecy of my participation and attendence until the moment I appeared on stage. Even my Mother and Father didn't know I was coming home to Australia for the event.. but it was done that way out of respect for Delta and her incredible triumph over her recent illness and of course her amazing musical achievements. My trip home was not one of self promotion but a favor for a fellow Australian and friend. I was humbled and honored to lend my voice to someone who temporarily couldn't find her own.
Here's wishing Delta a speedy recovery and the continued successful musical career she deserves.
Love always
Darren Hayes"

'Lost Without You' Lyrics
Posted By lssilver on Wednesday, October 22 2003 at 5:57 PM
For all of you wanting the lyrics to Delta Goodrem's 'Lost Without You' which Darren performed at last nights ARIA Awards.
Lost Without You
I know I can be a little stubborn sometimes
A little righteous and too proud
I just want to find a way to compromise
Cos I believe that we can work things out
I thought I had all the answers never giving in
But baby since you've gone I admit that I was wrong
All I know is I'm lost without you I'm not gonna lie
How my going to be strong without you I need you by my side u
If we ever say we'll never be together and we ended with goodbye don't know what I'd do?
I'm lost without you
I keep trying to find my way but all I know is I'm lost without you
I keep trying to face the day I'm lost without you
How my ever gonna get rid of these blues
Baby I'm so lonely all the time
Everywhere I go I get so confused
You're the only thing that's on my mind
Oh my beds so cold at night and I miss you more each day
Only you can make it right no I'm not too proud to say
All I know is I'm lost without you I'm not gonna lie
How my going to be strong without you I need you by my side u
If we ever say we'll never be together and we ended with goodbye don't know what I'd do?
I'm lost without you
I keep trying to find my way but all I know is I'm lost without you
I keep trying to face the day I'm lost without you
If I could only hold you now and make the pain just go away
Can't stop the tears from running down my face
Oh
All I know is I'm lost without you I'm not gonna lie
How my going to be strong without you I need you by my side u
If we ever say we'll never be together and we ended with goodbye don't know what I'd do?
I'm lost without you
I keep trying to find my way but all I know is I'm lost without you
I keep trying to face the day I'm lost without you

The latest update from the Sony site
**MONDAY, OCTOBER 13TH**
It is done.
It took 9 months.
But it is completed.
Last night I lay in bed with my headphones on listening to my fourth album in its entirety.
I am simultaneously physically and emotionally exhausted.
And very grateful.
October 6 Journal Entry

***OCTOBER 6, 2003***
Olympic Studios
London
When I started writing this album I remember thinking that the subject matter was a bit of a departure. Then the collaborators I had chosen to work with continued the theme. Not what you might expect but what I craved.
Now, mixing the record is almost like the third layer of treatment.
The point of view begins to change. Taking a sound that was intended to be a whisper and turning it into a roar. I'm so immersed in the process now that I'm sure I've lost perspective of what I used to sound like. All I know is that now I'm here I don't ever want to go back.
I like looking at the world through this distortion, through these citrus colored lenses.

New Studio Entry

***SEPTEMBER 26, 2003***
In the studio in London mixing is a f%$ckin' blast.
I'm so exhausted but it's more than worth it. So far we've been spending 14 hours a day here tweaking the sound. We're working with someone who's made records with Bjork, Massive Attack and Madonna amongst others. This engineer is someone I've wanted to work with since forever and the experience is more than I'd imagined it would be. He's taking the record to another level.
Being in amazing studio to mix is a nice change from the home job we were in tracking the album.
When you're at home you don't notice little imperfections like the unplanned pop and crackle noises that have suddenly appeared in our bitchin' guitars.
We spent a good few hours ironing out the gremlins and now we're ready to rock.
More later.
London is getting cold!!!
