Spinning Around the UK

It looks like Darren Hayes solo CD "SPIN" has debuted on the UK charts at a very impressive #2!
Celine Dion took the honours for the #1 spot this week, and Darren and her were neck to neck during the midweeks.
It will be interesting to see how the two albums continue into the next week, and if they stay up in the top 3 or drop back.

Darren recently said in an interview in the UK, that Crush (1980 me) and Strange Relationship will become the next singles.

He said it depends what area you live in as to what single you will get. It has already been confirmed Australia is getting Strange Relationship, so chances are Asia and Europe will receive Crush.

Sydney Showcase
Fox Studios - 7:30pm Thursday 4th April

The showcasing in Sydney was amazing. Darren Hayes performed to a crowd of approximately 1000, maybe even more. The venue, CityLive, Fox Studios was largely filled up. With the dancefloor being used for diehard fans and media.

Darren performed 8 Songs from his new album spin. These included : Dirty, Heart Attack, Insatiable, Strange Relationship, I Miss You, Good Enough, Spin and Crush (1980 me).

Darren performed well all night, and the showcase was very energetic! The fans that attended had a great night, and I think the media frenzy just shows how Darrens new solo carrier is starting to take off!

Darren looked and sounded fantastic, and seemed to be enjoying himself! The music was fantastic, and it has to be said, his new band performed amazing!

Look out for Darren showcasing in Melbourne and Brisbane really soon!

The video for the new Australian single 'Strange Relationship' has been shot according to what Darren said last night at the Showcase at City Live inside Sydney's Fox Studios.

Chart Update - April 1 2002

Well, lots of chart stuff to note this week!

Darren Hayes' "Spin" was released in Australia last week, and came in at #3 on the national chart this week. "Insatiable" is still doing very well on the singles chart, as well, where it can be seen this week at #11. Daniel Jones side project, Aneiki, has so far only reached #72 with their latest single "15 Minutes".

In the USA, "Insatiable" continues to slowly climb, this week lodging itself at #77.

"Insatiable" has leaped into the UK charts at a far more impressive #8, on it's week of release there.
