Update: What Is Happening Now?
Posted Monday, July 9, 2001 by lssilver

Many of you have probably been wondering what Darren and Daniel are up to at the moment. Well I can tell you what is happening in regards to both of them.

Currently Darren is in the process of recording a solo record. He has posted the following message on the Sony Music BBS:

"Hey everyone..

I feel like I've been away for so long, but believe me I think the wait will be worth it. I've been busy writing songs and making music
that I can't wait to share. I'm over half way through the recording of my album and everyday I drive home from the studio I put the latest version of a new song into my car stereo and just FREAK. I'm so happy with the way everything is sounding that I'm already wanting to do the video... plan the tour... do the club mixes!! I'm constantly being told to just slow down and FINISH THE ALBUM first..hehehe. All I can tell you is that I am hoping to have a single out before the end of the year. The new website is under construction and tech crew are working day and night to get darrenhayes.com up and running. This new site will keep you up to date on everything and hopefully be a place where you feel at home. Thanks for your incredible loyalty and patience. I love you."

Daniel, meanwhile, has launched his own record company/label called MeridienMusik. The label has released a new Brisbane band called Aneiki. This band consists of ex Savage Garden backing singer Jenny Waite and Grant Wallis. Daniel has co-written some of the songs they have recorded. Their first single "Pleased To Meet You" has just debuted at number 33 on the ARIA charts.

In regards to a new Savage Garden album, nothing is firm at this stage although there is speculation that there will be a third album released sometime in the future.
